Physical Education

The Physical Education program at Hillel Academy is designed to meet the physical, social and emotional needs of every student. Starting in the lower grades (K-2), the children are exposed to many different activities with the main focus on gross motor skills and balance.

Grades 3 and 4 have an introduction to team sports with emphasis on learning the skills and rules of the games, participation, and sportsmanship.

In grades 5-8, students play a variety of team sports where they learn skills and game planning with a major focus on inclusion of all players. There are often bonus points for a team when all of the players score in the game.

The most important thing the students will learn in their years at Hillel is that the effort and attitude they display is far more important than the skill level they possess. The program is presented in a way that fosters fair play, honesty and respect for all players. Each student will meet with success and will have an increased self image from participating in the program.
